5G infrastructure diversification and acceleration: Spanning small cells and Open vRAN

Network architectures need to be increasingly flexible and diverse in order to support the huge number of use cases that consumers and enterprises demand. The trend away from the traditional homogeneous network has seen early adoption of two important mobile technologies in 4G and 5G, and critical enablers are small cells together with open and virtualized RAN (Open vRAN).
