Enterprise small cell and IT networks

Instead of being deployed on a dedicated transport network, Enterprise small cells may be deployed using the already installed Enterprise IT network for providing connectivity. Whilst there can be a clear business benefit from being able to leverage existing LAN and WAN infrastructure, including Power-of-Ethernet, to support the small cell deployment, this raises key challenges which are addressed in this document. Recommendations such as how to partition resources between small cell and enterprise traffic, how to isolate small cell traffic from normal Enterprise IP traffic, security aspects of firewall configuration , IP addressing and QoS considerations, as well as issues associated with co-locating Wi-Fi access points are covered.
