4G and 5G small cells for smart cities: Taipei workshop
Document number: SCF220
On 26 September 2018, Small Cell Forum partnered with the Taiwanese Government’s Electric and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA) to host a one-day workshop in Taipei, entitled B4G and 5G small cells for smart cities. Some of the requirements were specific to Taiwan, including its opportunity to build an open ecosystem for small cells, based on its existing manufacturing industry. But many reflected more universal concerns and needs, from scalable, readily deployable networks for 5G and mmWave, to the development of flexible platforms which can support the widest range of use cases and service providers on the future hyperdense smart city system. This report summaries the main presentations at this event.
